Attract, Don't Chase
Hello Beautiful One,
Let me start by telling you just how proud of you I am. Through every up and down, through every fall, through every heartbreak and dissappointment, here you are. You weren't wiped out by the naysayers. You weren't broken by the liars. You weren't destroyed by your own mind. You are here, now, and I am just so proud of you. Getting focused on you isn't easy. The world is so loud and so forecful. It's always telling us what we need to look like and what we should desire. Social media drives our outward appearance and pushes our ambition for more. It's hard to keep our heads down when there's a phone in the same direction of our view, but you are here working on yourself unlike any other chapter of your life.
It's that appreciation of self that we all need in order to realize that everything we need to succeed is within us. Every desire that we want isn't about fighting for it, but bringing ourselves into view of it. I have noticed how much I chase things, meanwhile the wonderful things I have around me are left to collect dust. In my acceptance of myself I have noticed the gifts and talents I have taken for granted. I once believed that chasing after what you wanted was the way to go. I believed that being on the cutting edge of life was the way to be noticed, but then I was put on notice that my audience can/will find me when I come into tune with myself. I began to see that accepting me was a way to be accepted. If we're not careful our ambition will take us down paths that were never meant for us.
I remember a time when I wanted a relationship. I recall times when I wanted promotions. I look back on moments where I longed to travel. All of these moments I tried to force. I put myself in debt...in debt to love, in debt to money, in debt to many dissappointments and for what? Every single one of us vibrates at our own pace and frequency. We have become so ambitious and so impatient that pain and trauma has become a way of life. We have forgotten that our time is our time and that can't be forced, it can only be aligned. We worry about if instead of when. We stress over what we don't have, when we are blessed with so much that we consider little.
What if you took a step back and accepted you? Not the you that you feel you have to be, the you that you have always been. What if you accepted that you are outgoing instead of forcing yourself to be hidden? What if you accepted your love for bright colors instead of dressing in blacks? What if you accepted all of the parts of you that you have felt weren't "right"? Imagine that. Imagine a life where you start being the main character of your own story, fully realized in your potential and your thinking. Now, imagine how the rest of the world and your life will align with you.
I believe that the moment we accept ourselves is the moment that the world begins to align with the desires of our hearts and it was never about how fast you run your race, but how you race at your own pace. You are a work of art that has believed that you didn't belong to be displayed for long enough. Let the world see you. Let them interpret how they will, but don't let them define your worth nor your meaning. Let the world see your legacy and those who are meant to discover how truly life changing you are will find you. I promise.
I want you to keep your head up, be encouraged, and know that you are loved. You are a member of the Free World: a world without shame, without fear, a world where being who YOU are is expected. Be patient with yourself because everything is a process. Remember life is a marathon not a sprint. You'll make it through this week!
I believe in you so much and I love you so much more,
G.E.M. Stone
